Thomas Dohmke, former CEO of GitHub, has successfully secured the largest seed funding round ever recorded for a development tool startup. His new venture, Entire, has raised $60 million, achieving a valuation of $300 million.
Entire introduces an open-source platform designed to assist developers in effectively managing code generated by AI tools.
The technology behind Entire consists of three main elements. The first is a git-compatible database that organizes AI-generated code. Git, a decentralized version control system, is widely utilized by businesses and open-source platforms, including GitHub and GitLab.
The second feature is a proprietary “universal semantic reasoning layer,” aimed at facilitating seamless interaction among multiple AI agents. Lastly, the platform boasts an AI-centric user interface crafted to enhance collaboration between agents and human developers.
Entire’s inaugural offering is an open-source utility named Checkpoints, which automatically associates each piece of software submitted by an AI agent with the contextual information that inspired it, including prompts and dialogue transcripts. This approach enables developers to review, search through, and gain insights into the AI’s decision-making process.
By providing this tool, Entire aims to alleviate the difficulties developers face given the increasing volume of code produced by AI coding agents. Current popular open-source initiatives are particularly inundated with a mix of suggested code submissions that can range from high-quality to poorly constructed, potentially leading to inefficiencies.
In his press statement, Dohmke remarked, “We are experiencing an agent revolution, and unprecedented amounts of code are being created at a pace that exceeds human comprehension. Our traditional methodologies for software development—from task management to repositories and deployment—were never tailored for this new era of AI.

After four years at the helm of GitHub, where he witnessed the rise of the coding assistant GitHub Copilot, Dohmke departed in August 2025 to launch Entire.
Alongside Felicis, several other notable investors joined the seed round, including Madrona, M12, Basis Set, Harry Stebbings, Jerry Yang, and Olivier Pomel, CEO and founder of Datadog.
### Hustle Verdict
Our take is that this funding marks a significant milestone in the evolution of development tools, particularly in how they integrate AI. We believe Entire’s innovative approach to managing AI-generated code presents a critical solution to the challenges faced by developers today, positioning them advantageously for future advancements in AI-driven software development. The bottom line is that, as more organizations adopt AI technologies, tools like Entire will become essential for maintaining code quality and collaboration efficiency.
