According to Google’s fourth-quarter earnings report for 2025, their AI chatbot Gemini has surpassed 750 million monthly active users (MAUs). This impressive milestone highlights the swift consumer adoption of Gemini, positioning it as a significant contender in the AI domain.
In the previous quarter, Google reported 650 million MAUs for Gemini, showcasing substantial growth in a short timeframe. For context, Meta AI has nearly 500 million monthly users; however, Gemini still trails its primary competitor, ChatGPT, which is estimated to have around 810 million MAUs by late 2025.
This recent figure follows the launch of Gemini 3, the company’s most advanced model to date, which promises to deliver responses characterized by an unprecedented level of depth and nuance.
CEO Sundar Pichai emphasized that the introduction of Gemini 3 in AI mode has been a “positive driver” for the company’s growth, stressing that ongoing investment and innovation will be crucial to sustain this momentum.
In addition, Google has introduced a new budget-friendly plan, Google AI Plus, priced at $7.99 per month. This plan aims to attract cost-conscious consumers, although its recent launch means it has yet to impact quarterly performance figures.
“We are focused on providing a free tier alongside subscription options, and we are witnessing remarkable growth,” stated Philipp Schindler, Google’s Chief Business Officer, during the investor call.
The growth of Gemini is particularly noteworthy given Alphabet’s overall financial performance, as the company has reached an impressive annual revenue exceeding $400 billion for the first time this quarter. Google attributes this achievement to the expansion of its AI division, which has experienced heightened demand. Recently, the company also rolled out its latest TPU AI accelerator chip, named Ironwood, to compete more effectively with Nvidia.

“The launch of Gemini 3 marks a significant milestone, and we are experiencing great momentum. Our first-party models, including Gemini, are now processing over 10 billion tokens per minute through direct API usage by our clients, and the Gemini App has amassed over 750 million monthly active users. Search usage has reached unprecedented levels, with AI continuing to propel this growth,” Pichai remarked in today’s announcement.
